The apostasy of "Choose Love"

The Deuteronomist says in 30:19: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. This threat has been set, implicitly, against the so-called "pro-choice" movement.

These words sound as forceful as they do because they are true.

When I first moved here in 2010, I started seeing a different sort of bumper-sticker: "choose love". If it sounds like Deepak Chopra or like Ringo Starr or like a homosexual male then, well...

As so often happens in the modern West, the Torah came first; "choose life" came first. "Choose love" subverts that; it is an attack against that. It is hate. As such, those who invoke "choose love" on their bumperstickers - rather than actually living by love - will not have love; they have rejected life, and true love with it.
