Tony Chavez Blair
The BBC is funded by a license fee on all television sets in the UK. The television owner does not have the liberty of sending that cheque to a rival, independent station.
The Beeb has just been caught sending goons to a Conservative Party event. Once there, they proceeded to heckle the stage, to blast out propaganda supporting the ruling party leader (Tony Blair in this case), and to take recordings of whoever else was there.
Their excuse has to be seen to be believed:
Last night, the BBC claimed that the exercise was part of a "completely legitimate programme about the history and art of political heckling" and said that other parties' meetings were being "observed". However, The Telegraph has established that none of Tony Blair's meetings was infiltrated or disrupted in similar fashion.
Actually, strike that; I've seen it and I still don't believe it.
Once again, the BBC has no purpose and should be privatised. This is a principled platform for Michael Howard, come to that; if he does not call for defunding the Beeb, then the voters have to suspect he is waiting to unleash their thugs on Labour (or the Libs) if his party should win.
If any of my Staffordshire cousins are reading this, write to your MP demanding he vote to privatise the BBC. If he will not do this, find an opponent who will.
